fter conducting a nation-wide search, The Forest County Potawatomi announced that Dominic Ortiz has been appointed CEO and General Manager of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, as he took over the position Monday July 26.
Ortiz most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Soaring Eagle Gaming Properties and Corporate Services in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
New Potawatomi Hotel & Casino CEO and General Manager graduated from University of Kansas School of Business and the Harvard Business School’s General Manager/Executive Education program. Ortiz has 17 years of experience in leadership positions at several tribal casino properties across the country.
“I would like to thank the Tribal Council and the Forest County Potawatomi for the opportunity to join an amazing team”, said Ortiz in a press release. “I look forward to building upon their success and taking the brand to a new level for future generations”.
Ned Daniels Jr., Chairman of the Forest County Potawatomi, commented on the appointment of Ortiz: “We are truly excited to welcome Dominic into this role at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. We’re confident his years of experience in tribal gaming will prove valuable in charting the course during a pivotal time at our Milwaukee property”.
Dominic Ortiz became CEO and General Manager after Rodney Ferguson’s resignation in March 2021. Former CEO of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino left the company to take a job helping in the development of an Indian casino property in his home state of Virginia.
