As reported by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission, Maryland’s six casinos have delivered a new single-month record, as they have collectively generated $212.9 million in revenue from slot machines and table games in October.
The total represented an increase of $57.9 million (37.4%) compared to the same period last year, and has also beat the previous single-month record of $181.5 million set in July this year by $31.4 million.
MGM National Harbor was the top generating property, which saw $115 million in revenue, an increase of 105.8% compared to last year. Live! Casino & Hotel followed with $59.6 million, with a drop of 1.9% year-over-year.
Horseshoe Casino raked in $17.4 million last month, an increase of 1.5% from 2021; whileOcean Downs Casino saw a rise of 4.7% to a total revenue of $8 million during the same period. Hollywood Casino made it to $7.5 million, decreasing 1.3% compared to last year; and Rocky Gap Casino dropped 9.5% to $5.2 million.
Casino gaming contributions to the state last month totaled $79.9 million, an increase of $11 million (16%) compared to October 2021.
Maryland is currently shaping its online sports betting market, with a first batch of operators having recently applied for licenses. The list features 10 online sportsbooks, including Barstool, Betfred, BetMGM, BetrRivers, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and PointsBet, among others. Online sports betting is set to go live by the end of the year.
