The state-of-the-art casino costed about $120 million and offers guests premier gaming and entertainment, including the first retail Barstool sportsbook, and cardless, cashless and contactless gaming technology in the state.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our 43rd property in North America, our third in the Commonwealth, and showcasing Hollywood Casino York’s unique style of premier gaming, dining and entertainment in a truly modern atmosphere,” said Todd George, Executive Vice President of Operations for Penn National during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

State gaming officials, legislators and area dignitaries joined Penn National Gaming’s team for the opening of the casino, which counts with over 500 slot machines, 24 table games, the first retail Barstool Sportsbook in Pennsylvania and upscale casual dining.
The table games include blackjack, craps, roulette, mini baccarat, among others; while the Barstool Sportsbook features a 20-foot wall of TVs, bar top video poker, sports betting tellers and sports wagering and racing kiosks.
The approximate 80,000 square foot gaming and entertainment facility features cutting-edge “3C” technology: cardless, cashless and contactless, by employing the “mywallet” system, in partnership with Everi Holdings and Acres Manufacturing.
“This is a revolutionary enhancement for our industry,” commented George. “This technology further supports Penn National’s omnichannel business approach where we are providing the best experiences, whether people are playing with us at our properties or on our numerous online offerings.”

Customers who use the digital wallet on their smartphones will be able to conduct cashless transactions at slot machines and table games, including buy-ins and chip redemptions.
Penn National has further plans to extend its reach within Pennsylvania: Hollywood Casino Morgantown, set to open later this year in Berks County, would join the existing offer of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, the Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington and the newly opened Hollywood Casino York.
