UK-based sports betting operator Betfred Sports announced the opening date of its Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook, which represents the bookmaker’s first venture into the Nevada sports wagering market. The space will open on Thursday, February 9, inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.
Betfred was granted approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission and Nevada Gaming Control Board to manage sports wagering at the Mohegan Sun Sportsbook on Thursday, January 25.
To celebrate the grand opening on Thursday, UNLV Rebels football and Cincinnati Bengals legend Elbert “Ickey” Woods will be placing the first bet at the sportsbook at 3:00 p.m. Best remembered for his signature touchdown celebration, the “Ickey Shuffle,” Woods was a breakout star in the NFL, setting both Bengals franchise and rookie records.
Betfred is an official sports betting partner of the Cincinnati Bengals. Woods is a member of the UNLV Athletics Hall Of Fame Class of 1998 and still holds Rebels rushing records today. He will also be hosting a meet and greet, open to the public in Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook after the first bet.
