Stanton, Delaware-based Delaware Park Casino & Racing is embarking on a renovation project aimed at transforming its main gaming space and introducing new amenities to the property. With a budget of $10 million, the project, which commenced last month, is expected to be completed by fall, offering a refreshed and modernized experience to its visitors.

Delaware Park Casino & Racing, previously owned by the Rickman family for over four decades, underwent a change in ownership in November 2021 when Canadian private equity firm Clairvest Group and Rubico Gaming acquired the property for a reported $90 million.

Rubico Gaming, controlled by former Caesars Entertainment board member Thomas Benninger, joined forces with Clairvest Group to oversee the casino’s future. And to lead the venue’s revitalization, Terry Glebocki was appointed as president and general manager of Delaware Park.

Glebocki, a seasoned casino industry professional and former CEO of Ocean Casino Resort, is tasked with leveraging her expertise to drive the property’s success. She successfully spearheaded the turnaround of the Atlantic City resort and now aims to replicate that accomplishment at Delaware Park.

The ongoing renovation project at Delaware Park Casino & Racing promises to bring a fresh look and a promising future. Glebocki envisions the casino as a major destination in Delaware, rivaling the allure of Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

“We want to make the property more modern and comfortable for our existing guests, as well as attract new audiences, positioning our casino as a premier destination in the region,” said Glebocki.

The renovations will include an upscale baccarat and blackjack pit, the addition of pod-style slot cabinet configurations, and the introduction of a variety of new food and beverage options. An expanded VIP bar aims to offer a touch of the Las Vegas and Atlantic City experience to regional guests.

Delaware Park Casino & Racing’s current gaming space features nearly 1,900 slot machines, 40 table games, a poker room, and a sportsbook. In addition to updating the gaming amenities, the renovation project will also bring custom chandeliers & lighting, comfortable gaming furniture, carpeting, vaulted ceilings, and attractive murals to the venue.
