Bally’s announced Wednesday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with live casino supplier Stakelogic. The agreement follows the passage of the Rhode Island iGaming bill, which occurred on June 22, extending Bally’s role as the sole active casino operator in the state to now include the online vertical.

As part of their partnership, Bally’s will leverage Stakelogic’s software and studio technology to launch Bally’s live casino offering in North America. The casino and gaming operator intends to offer popular online live casino games such as Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat in Rhode Island beginning in April 2024.

The partnership is an essential one for Bally’s as Rhode Island’s iGaming bill mandates live dealers to be in place on the online gaming platforms. A mini-casino, similar to a television studio, is to be utilized to simulcast the games to mobile devices.

Robeson Reeves, Chief Executive Officer of Bally’s Corporation, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Stakelogic to bring our live casino operations online in Rhode Island. With a partner like Stakelogic, we know we are putting our best foot forward, and we are confident that we will be able to provide our Rhode Island customers with a truly exciting live dealer experience.”

Stakelogic is considered one of the rising stars of iGaming and is live in over 20 markets, according to a press release on the announcement. The company has two live casino studios in Europe, a portfolio of over 250 slot games, as well as “state-of-the-art” live dealer technology.

Stakelogic CEO Stephan van den Oetelaar said: “We are very excited about our partnership with Bally’s as it will finally enable Stakelogic to bring its technology to the US. It will also enable us to build on our tremendous growth since launching live casino 14 months ago, positioning Stakelogic as a leading technology company in the iGaming industry.”

Under the new Rhode Island iGaming law, Bally’s will hold the exclusive rights to operate online gaming in the state. The company’s online arm, Gamesys, which operates under various brands including Virgin Casino, Tropicana Casino, and Rainbow Riches Casino, will be the sole operator.

The law imposes a 50% tax on online slot revenue, with the remaining funds divided between Bally’s and IGT. Table games, on the other hand, will face a lower tax rate of 18% on revenue. Mobile sports betting in Rhode Island will continue to be limited to individuals aged 21 and older, aligning with the state’s existing land-based laws.
