B2B gaming services provider Kambi Group has entered into a long-term Brazilian sports betting partnership with Eyas Gaming, a Gauselmann Group-backed venture from founding partners Michael Brady and Adam Joseph. The deal will see Kambi power the launch of the ‘Lance! Betting’ sportsbook, a partnership between Eyas Gaming and the popular football media site Lance!

Kambi aims to further strengthen its Latin American position with the agreement. The provider describes ‘Lance!’ as a leading football media site in Brazil, with more than 15 million active users per month. The site and Eyas Gaming will leverage Kambi’s sports betting technology to launch the Lance! Betting sportsbook brand in the country.

Backed by major gambling industry conglomerate Gauselmann Group and with an experienced leadership team, including founding partners Michael Brady and Adam Joseph, Eyas Gaming’s partnership with Kambi “affords scope to launch sports betting operations in further jurisdictions in the future,” a press release notes.

Kristian Nylén, Kambi Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, said: “It is a pleasure to have put pen to paper on this agreement with Eyas Gaming, an operator whose management team boasts clear expertise and a passion for sports betting that mirrors our own.”

This agreement further bolsters Kambi’s impressive range of partners throughout Brazil and Latin America, and we are excited to capitalize on the rich promise this partnership holds.”

Adam Joseph, Chief Executive Officer at Eyas Gaming, said: “We are very pleased to have signed with Kambi as we look to deliver on our sports betting ambitions and the potential of the Lance! Betting brand in Brazil.”

“Kambi’s track record in Latin America and proven suite of high-performance technology made partnering with them a natural choice.”

Kambi has been eyeing expansion in Brazil for some time now, but regulatory delays in the country have held up plans. The country took a step towards legal betting back in May when the government launched provisional measures for wagering, including a 16% tax on gross gaming revenue for licensed operators. Players will also be subject to a 30% income tax on winnings, capped at R$2,112.

As for Eyas, the new agreement may indicate a change in direction for the brand, which was originally formed in October 2020 by Michael Brady, Joe Saumarez Smith and CEO Joseph. Gaming giant Gauselmann acquired a majority stake in Brady and Saumarez Smith’s previous company, Bede Gaming, earlier that year, and at the time Eyas targeted Germany’s iGaming market, which entered re-regulation in July 2021.
