The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has ordered the suspension of operator Green Feather Online’s license, the latest in a string of penalties handed to gaming companies in the country. The operator, which was using a B2C Gaming Service Licence granted in Malta, must now cease all operations with immediate effect.
Under its license, Greenfeather was running Bcasino.com, Bcasino.in, Boocasino.com, Boocasino.co, Galacticwins.com, and Mrfortune.com. The reason for the suspension was a breach of several sections of the country’s Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, primarily related to submitting financial information to the authority.
The regulator said that Geen Feather breached articles 41(1) and 41(2)(a) of the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive (Directive 3 of 2018). Article 41(1) states that licensees are required to submit management accounts for the first six months of the year no later than the last day of the eighth month of their financial year. Meanwhile, Article 41(2)(a) requires licensees to file and audited financial statements with the MGA within 180 days from their financial year-end.
The MGA noted that the company is thus no longer authorized to carry out any gaming operations. However, the operator is required to retain and provide access to all registered players upon request to their player accounts.
The authority has also directed it to refund all funds standing to the credit of players in line with the applicable law. Green Feather still has the option to appeal against the decision and subsequent license suspension.
The development comes after the MGA also suspended SFJL Holding’s authorization after uncovering multiple breaches of Malta’s gaming regulations. These were related to material changes within the business and a requirement to notify the regulator of these changes.
Last week, MGA also canceled EGMIT Elite Limited’s B2C gaming service license, which carries its operations via its Elite24bet license. And last month, Tipster was directed to cease gaming activities after the MGA imposed a suspension on the provider.
