GT has extended its INTELLIGEN contract with Atlantic Lottery Corporation, announced the company on Thursday. The updated contract will partner IGT’s subsidiary IGT Canada Solutions ULC with ALC for one more year to continue providing its video lottery central system.

By having expanded its contract, IGT expects to continue its “legacy of winning video lottery terminal (VLT) systems bids across Canada”: all of the country’s VLTs are currently connected by the company’s INTELLIGEN system. The Atlantic Lottery operates more than 6,000 video lottery terminals across four Atlantic Canada provinces.

“IGT’s INTELLIGEN system offers the Atlantic Lottery progressive tools and functionality that help position the Lottery for future success,” said Nick Khin, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Gaming. “With more than 25 years of gaming central system development expertise with customers worldwide, IGT is happy to continue providing our advanced INTELLIGEN system to enhance the Lottery’s VLT system performance.”

IGT’s INTELLIGEN systems are deployed in a variety of gaming environments, currently connecting about 150,000 VLTs worldwide. It is set to offer “stable, secure command and control capabilities,” and supports the Gaming Standards Association’s Game to System (G2S) standard protocol. The G2S standard enables an enhanced player user interface, improved responsible gaming features, multi-level jackpots and additional player-centric functionality.

The Atlantic Lottery first became an IGT customer in 1982, and in addition to the video lottery central system, the company also provides the Lottery with VLT cabinets, video lottery content, lottery point-of-sale terminals, digital lottery, casino and bingo games, IGT ADVANTAGE casino management system, and a variety of slot machines.

IGT has provided the Canadian public corporation with VLTs since 1990, and in 2012 reached an agreement to supply 1,612 VLTs to the Lottery to replace obsolete units.

In August, IGT posted revenue up 74% to over $1 billion in Q2, with growth in all segments. Second-highest revenue and profit levels were reported in Global Lottery, and same-store sales grew 35%. This led IGT to now expecting to exceed 2019 levels for key financial metrics this year.
