The QualiBest Institute, in partnership with ENV Media, surveyed to analyze the profile of the gambler in Brazil, one of the countries with the greatest potential for the gambling industry.
Among the main conclusions drawn by the study, three out of four people who access the Internet have tried their luck betting online. Thirty-eight percent say they gamble at least once a week, dedicating more than one hour a week to this activity.
Fábia Duarte, Director of Services and Planning at QualiBest Institute, said: “The study shows that there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of the bettor’s sense of security, especially among seniors. There is also a lot of room for growth among women if betting is not limited to sports.”
The Institute emphasized, however, that betting and gambling still need further clarification. When it comes to regulation, more than half of the respondents have little or no knowledge of the legislation, which helps explain their uncertainty about whether gambling is a safe and healthy form of entertainment.
