The Sunset Station casino in Henderson, Nevada, is set to debut its all-new STN Sportsbook with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 16. The amenity promises “a game-changing game-day experience with a bold new design, over-the-top visuals, and a massive audiovisual experience.”
The fully transformed STN Sportsbook opening ceremony will be led by Station Casinos executives including the property’s General Manager Jordan Seager and Vice President of Race and Sports Jason McCormick. Following the honorary ceremony, the race and sportsbook will officially open to the public.
“The stunning new STN Sportsbook offers a dramatically new look and welcomes in the next era of Sportsbook experiences with a panoramic 150-foot LED screen wall, tiered VIP seating, lounge areas, a dynamic bar scene, high-definition screens at every turn, and seamless betting options for guests,” states Sunset Station.
“Sunset Station’s new hub for sports viewing action and socializing begins at the new STN Sportsbook with a grand sense of arrival, deep red plaid carpets offer visual interest and comfortable leather seating offers a luxury stadium “box” experience,” the company added.
In other recent news at the casino, last month employees at Sunset Station represented by Culinary Local 226 chose to end their affiliation with the union. According to the casino’s operator, Station Casinos, a majority of Culinary employees at the property signed a petition to decertify the union.
In a statement in response, Culinary Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge said Station Casinos has “a shameful history of anti-worker behavior, and losing” and alleged that company management had encouraged union decertification. He said the withdrawal of recognition at Sunset Station is unlawful.
