The Flutter Foundation, a non-profit organization supported by Flutter Entertainment, has officially launched in Ceuta, Spain. The initiative aims to promote inclusion and improve the lives of disadvantaged communities through education, entrepreneurship, and technology initiatives.
The launch in Ceuta is part of Flutter’s global objective to enhance the lives of 10 million people by 2030. The foundation focuses on addressing inequality and social challenges through various programs in education, technology, sports promotion, and employability improvement.
These efforts align with Flutter’s Positive Impact Plan, a sustainability strategy the gaming giant introduced in 2022. By the end of 2023, Flutter reported progress in improving the lives of 1.5 million people.
On its launch day, the foundation formalized two agreements to benefit Ceuta. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Youth, the foundation will provide 80,000 euros ($86,745) in scholarships for STEM studies, supporting disadvantaged families and promoting gender equality in scientific careers. Additionally, in partnership with the Government of Ceuta, the foundation will develop initiatives to enhance the city’s inclusion and quality of life.
The foundation’s launch event saw attendance from prominent political and business leaders, including Juan Jesús Vivas Lara, President of the Autonomous City of Ceuta; Cristina Pérez Valero, the Government of Spain’s Delegate in Ceuta; and Kissy Chandiramani, Minister of Finance, Economic Transition, and Digital Transformation.
Dan Taylor, CEO of Flutter International, highlighted the initiative’s potential impact, stating: “We aim for this initiative to make a significant difference in communities, starting with Ceuta.”
Juan Jesús Vivas Lara expressed pride in Ceuta being the headquarters for this initiative, emphasizing the positive change the Flutter Foundation aims to bring. “The Flutter Foundation will be an engine of positive change for many people,” Vivas said. “We are committed to supporting its mission and collaborating closely in its work for the social, economic, educational and technological development of the city.”
Elisa Miguel Fonseca, President of the Flutter Foundation, added: “We are very serious about launching the world’s first Flutter foundation. Our mission is clear: to work in close collaboration with the communities most in need to promote positive and lasting change in Ceuta society and in a second phase, in all of Spanish society.”
