Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, is set to deliver a keynote address at the SBC Summit 2024, inspiring the event’s 25,000 attendees to embrace innovation and leverage available technologies for groundbreaking advancements.
Berners-Lee will participate in a fireside discussion at the Super Stage of Feira Internacional de Lisboa’s MEO Arena on September 24 from 11:45 to 12:30. The conversation will focus on how his vision of a globally connected network has transformed information sharing worldwide.
Berners-Lee, a former software engineer at CERN, invented the World Wide Web in 1989, realizing the potential of millions of interconnected computers. His creation has since revolutionized global communication, influencing education, commerce, and collaboration, despite only a little over half of the global population currently being online.
Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC, said: “Our events have always been about exploring what lies ahead, beyond the current landscape. As event organizers, our goal is not only to provide attendees with access to products and services and facilitate networking but also to educate and inspire innovation, pushing their offerings to the next level. Sir Tim embodies this ethos perfectly — he’s a shining example of someone who recognized potential and transformed lives in unimaginable ways.”
The SBC Summit 2024 will feature 600 global brands and insights from over 450 speakers, including industry leaders and experts. Access to the Super Stage is available to all attendees, with either full event or expo-only passes.
