Mesquite Gaming has announced the appointment of Rich Boyd as Director of Marketing. The operator noted Boyd brings over 15 years of marketing and operations experience in the gaming industry to CasaBlanca Resort & Casino and Virgin River Hotel & Casino, Mesquite Gaming’s properties in Mesquite, Nevada.

Rich is the perfect person to help lead our rebranding efforts as we implement substantial renovations and upgrades to the experience of our Mesquite properties,” said Justin Moore, CEO of Mesquite Gaming. “He is extremely knowledgeable in developing and implementing marketing strategies that leverage overall operations.”

Boyd’s marketing career began in 2009 with Stations Casinos in Las Vegas as an Operations Manager in their Wildfire Gaming Division.

He pursued marketing full-time and transitioned to the role of Marketing Manager at Fiesta Rancho in 2013, where he was later promoted to Director of Marketing. In 2019 he continued his career with Station Casinos in marketing in his role as Director of Marketing at Texas Station.

Most recently, Boyd worked in Regional Hospitality Marketing for Caesars Entertainment, where he was responsible for overseeing the marketing efforts for The LINQ, Harrah’s, and Flamingo properties.

Mesquite Gaming announced renovation projects for its CasaBlanca and Virgin River hotel casinos in June. The upgrades, which will cost several million dollars, include significant changes to Katherine’s Steakhouse at CasaBlanca. The steakhouse will get a new lounge, an expanded bar area, and new carpeting. New menu offerings will be added to the favorites on the current menu.

Meanwhile, at Virgin River, the sportsbook will be moved to the currently vacant movie theater space on the property, making use of 10-by-53-foot LCD screens. This project is slated to be completed by mid-NFL season in the fall. Virgin River will also see the deployment of 90 additional slot machines for the gaming floor.
