ROGA says it has plans to develop and implement an “evidence-based responsible gaming college education program specifically tailored to the unique needs of university-aged students that will leverage digital delivery tools to provide RG and financial literacy education to students across diverse campuses and demographics throughout the US.”

The goal is to launch the program in 2025, according to a press release. The initiative is in partnership with EPIC Global Solutions, Kindbridge Behavioural Health and the Responsible Gaming Council. The program will be available to college-aged people who want to learn about gambling and how to do it responsibly.

The lessons will be open to any college-aged person, whether or not enrolled in an educational program. There will also be a special program aimed specifically at student-athletes.

Odds, probabilities, good decision making

According to the press release, financial literacy will be a key part of the program. The program will cover odds, probabilities and the randomness of gambling. The hope is that with that knowledge, college-aged people will better understand risk and be equipped to make good decisions. In addition, ROGA aims to “raise awareness” around responsible gaming tools and concepts.

“At Kindbridge Behavioural Health, we understand the unique challenges that college students face in balancing entertainment options, such as gaming behaviors, with academic and personal responsibilities,” Daniel Umfleet, founder and CEO of Kindbridge Behavioural Health said via press release. “Partnering with ROGA on this national education campaign is a crucial step toward providing young adults with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed, financially responsible decisions about gaming.”

Kindbridge has been working at universities and with the gambling industry for several years. Among their programs is one that educates ROTC students about responsible gambling. EPIC Global Solutions designed responsible gambling curriculums for the NCAA and its college athletes.

ROGA was founded in March by BetMGM, Bet365, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting & Gaming, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital and Penn Entertainment. Bally’s joined in June.
