SBC Summit Latin America will close its doors today at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, eyeing to become a bigger event next year as SBC Americas. The balance of the 2024 edition is undoubtedly positive, with preliminary data confirming that the Miami tradeshow exceeded its expectations in terms of attendance, and on its first day alone it already had more than 4,000 registered visitors, who walked its halls during a long day of exhibition, and filled the three parallel halls, where the conferences were held.

At the end of the first day, Yogonet had an exclusive interview with Cristian Robalino, Vice President of Marketing for the Americas at SBC, who said that the initial results were very encouraging. “This is the last edition of SBC Summit Latin America, since next year we are going to offer another, much larger event, which joins the two fairs we hold in the United States in the month of May. But as we close this stage, our edition of SBC Summit Latin America 2024 has been phenomenal.”

“We are very happy with the results: the people who have visited us and the clients are very happy. Suffice it to say that our expectations of attendance rate have grown from last year to this one by more than 25%, and according to the first preliminary data, some 4,000 people were present at our opening day… In this regard, we are very happy, and very satisfied with the results,” he added.

When it came to analyzing the type of public they were able to attract, Robalino said: “We have been told that today (yesterday, Wednesday) the right people came, the decision-makers, the CEOs or very senior executives of the sector. The balance is also very positive in this aspect.”

In parallel, the executive acknowledged that it was not an easy decision to leave behind this event, already a highlight, on the industry’s agenda, to merge it with its U.S. counterpart, and create SBC Americas 2025.

“It was a difficult decision, because we love this place, the Hard Rock is a fantastic place for this type of event. But we are growing very fast and we don’t have enough space here to keep growing, so we had to move to another place. Fortunately, we found the Broward County Convention Center, located in Fort Lauderdale, which is a much larger venue, and will allow us to face this growth I was talking about, in addition to being undergoing renovations,” said Robalino.

He added: “We are very proud to have been able to generate in Miami an event for Latin America and with such a Latin profile, and in this sense, we still have a very intense second day before we start thinking about our show next May.”

Today, the organizers hope to repeat the number of attendees, which yesterday was really intense and, at times, not only filled the aisles of the exhibition area but also managed to completely occupy the three large conference rooms.

Regarding the lectures, today there will be two sessions dedicated to the Brazilian market, one on lotteries and the other on the convergence of payment methods and operators; a session to examine the current legal situation in Chile; and another detailed analysis, in this case on the balance of the regulation in Peru, one year after the formalization of online gaming operations in the country, by the Mincetur (Ministry of Tourism and Trade).

The trade show will open its doors today, Thursday, October 31, for the last time between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and those who wish to consult the complete agenda of the conferences (12 sessions in total and more than 50 speakers), can do so through the following link: https://sbcevents.com/sbc-summit-latinoamerica/agenda/.
