Bookmaker Betfred has re-opened its Warrington Head Office following a multimillion-pound refurbishment and upgrade of facilities. A ceremony on Friday saw Betfred Founder and Chairman Fred Done joined by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons and Rugby Football League President, to unveil a new plaque at the Spectrum HQ.
Betfred touts its HQ as a historic venue in Cheshire, having originally served as the Warrington Spectrum, a performance hall for live music shows and sports. Betfred first moved into the Spectrum Arena from its Salford base in 2004 and embarked on the ambitious refurbishment project in 2021.
The revamped 50,000 sq ft headquarters will accommodate over 450 staff and features design highlights including the ‘Nifty 50’ Studio, which hosts Betfred’s £5 million top-prize numbers game with live presenters, and the Immersion Tunnel, a stadium-inspired space showcasing Betfred’s sporting heritage.
Chairman Fred Done said: “Reopening our Spectrum HQ is a very proud moment for me and my family. We’ve come a long way since having one shop in Salford in 1967, and I’m delighted that, because of our close association with Rugby League, Sir Lindsay Hoyle has kindly agreed to officially open the building.”

Betfred’s HQ will support satellite offices in Manchester, Salford, Gibraltar, the US, and South Africa. Betfred also underlined its commitment to community relationships as one of the biggest employers in the North West of England and as the UK’s largest retail bookmaker.
Group CEO Joanne Whitaker said: “The reopening of the Spectrum marks a fresh chapter for us. This redesign is more than just a new look – it’s about building an inspiring, collaborative environment that reflects our bold ambitions.
“We’ve created a dynamic space where ideas can flourish, and our teams can come together. We’re excited about the possibilities this new headquarters will open up and are looking forward to the journey ahead.”
Betfred announced the launch of the Nifty 50 brand-new studio and live presenters for its numbers game earlier in the month. The Nifty 50 is a fixed odds numbers game featuring five live draws daily with a jackpot of £5 million ($6.4 million) for every draw.
