The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Rampart Casino is celebrating its 25-year anniversary with a $75 million renovation. The property opened in 1999 as the first casino and resort in the master-planned community of Summerlin, on the western edge of Las Vegas.
The casino, spa, and dining destination seeks to cater both to Las Vegas locals and visitors. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the property has “reimagined” its arrival experience, guest rooms, and conference center.
The $75 million multi-year resort renovation has a focus on “mindful luxury” and a commitment to well-being, with the resort offering “an elevated escape that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation,” according to JW Marriott. The renovation was led by FRANK Architecture and Interiors, a full-service architecture and interior design firm.
The hotel’s new design blends the property’s existing Spanish Colonial architecture with modern elements, seeking to provide a more contemporary feel. Featuring grand archways, large open spaces, and abundant natural light, the renovated hotel lobby and conference center design combines complementary light muted earth tones with jewel tone accents.
The resort’s renovated guest rooms boast 560 square feet of interiors equipped with furniture packages that include residential dining tables, couches, ceiling fans, 65-inch smart TVs, and coffee machines. The desert-inspired color palette “evokes a feeling of calm and serenity,” a press release says.
The rooms and corridor areas pull design inspiration from surrounding landscapes and utilize bold textures and glistening metallic finishes. In addition, 98 of the resort’s 548 guestrooms offer walk-out and Juliette balconies, and 11 guestrooms and suites offer walk-out terraces, connecting guests to the resort’s gardens, waterfalls, and koi ponds.
“Nestled within the stunning desert landscape, golf courses, and shopping districts, our resort offers guests a rejuvenating oasis where uplifting hospitality and elevated experiences enable them to unwind and indulge in the very best of Las Vegas,” said Michelle McHugh, vice president and general manager, JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Rampart Casino.
“Set across 54 lush acres, our resort is crafted to inspire well-being and a deep connection with the destination, offering the best of both worlds – from wellness-centered amenities to iconic casino experiences, all within the vibrant expanse of our grounds.”
Other recent renovations include a refreshed fitness center, the new Hydra Lounge relaxation area, and renovated treatment rooms in the spa. The casino floor renovation consists of a new lighting package and carpet, and fresh paint and wall coverings, as well as the installation of a new high-limit slot room with a bar.
The resort’s restaurant collection also underwent a major transformation and includes property favorites Market Place Buffet, Jade Asian Kitchen, the resort’s Italian bistro, and the casino’s 24-hour café.
Trident, a Las Vegas-based general contractor and construction management company, is overseeing the construction. Additional renovation plans will continue through 2025 and will be announced next year, the resort said.
